Do you *really* want to be miserable forever?

And it’s no surprise when you’re used to dieting that once you return to your normal eating patterns, shit hits the fan.
I’ve been told some shocking things from ex slimmers…
🐷 If they gained they had to stand in a pig mask and oink
💪🏼That they were singled out and fat shamed infront of people because they started exercising
🫠 That they came away from Slimming World, lighter but feeling worse about their bodies than they ever have before…
And sorry but WHERE is the logic that you can eat as much pasta in a day as you like, but you eat an avocado and you’re the devil 😈
Slimming World and other clubs play off the moral values of words and foods - for example:
❌ Syns - negative connotation, and a way to tell you just how ‘bad’ a food is
✅ Free foods - no value so ‘technically’ you can eat as much of them as you please and still lose weight
Which scientifically JUST ISN’T TRUE!
I’ve coached 3 consultants and several ex slimmers and it safe to say that it’s worse on the inside 😭
People shamed if they miss group, called names if they gain or maintain and not to mention being praised for rapid weight loss (which as we all know by now is not healthy and not sustainable)
They demonise certain foods and have inaccurate units of measuring their ‘syns’ - with a McDonalds happy meal having the same amount of syns as an avocado… 🤯
There are so many reasons that I hate slimming clubs, but the main one is that the way they are run and the values it passes on creates distorted views on foods and their nutritional values, and fosters AWFUL relationships with your body and body image.
And yet, people rejoin after losing the weight and regaining it because it ‘worked’.
It worked because you starved your body of nutrients, joy and happiness, in the name of a quick fix.
But tell me, can you really see yourself doing that forever?
