Is protein really that important?
Everyone talks about protein.
But the fitness industry has seem to forget that there is 2 other macros.
Fats and carbohydrates.
Fats are an essential part of a healthy diet. They provide energy, help the body absorb vitamins and they support cell function.
People often give them a hard time. They seem to have become the devil of the fitness industry. People buying low fat this and low fat that, yet they seem to have forgotten that they are a very essential part of daily life.
Carbohydrates are a staple in your diet, but yet again people seem to ridicule them!! People still think the magic cure to losing weight. Yes, you do lose weight when you give up carbs but thats because you drop water weight. Carbohydrates are the bodies primary energy source, the brain relays on them to function and they fuel your cells, tissues and cells.
Yes, protein is important but so are the others. your diet should be made up of all three to ensure you get the most out of your diet.
